How to Delete Your Naukri Account (Step-by-Step 2026 Guide)
- Log in at naukri.com → Settings & Privacy → Delete Account → confirm via email.
- There is a 30-day grace period — log in within 30 days to cancel the deletion.
- Deletion is permanent after 30 days. Download your resume and applications list first.
- Just want to stop calls without losing your account? Deactivate instead — it's reversible.
If you've landed a job, moved to LinkedIn, or are simply tired of daily recruiter spam calls, deleting your Naukri account is straightforward — but there are a few things worth knowing before you pull the trigger. This guide covers both permanent deletion and temporary deactivation, so you can pick the right option for your situation.
Delete vs Deactivate — Which One Do You Need?
Naukri offers two options and most people choose the wrong one. Here's the difference:
- • Permanently removes your profile, resume, and data after 30 days
- • Cannot be undone after the grace period
- • Use if: you've genuinely stopped using Naukri forever
- • Use if: you want your data removed for privacy reasons
- • Hides your profile from all recruiter searches immediately
- • All your data is preserved
- • Reversible — reactivate by logging back in
- • Use if: you found a job and want to pause, not quit
Before you delete — download your data
Go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data to get a copy of your resume, application history, and profile data. This is especially useful if you've built up years of application records.
How to Delete Your Naukri Account — 7 Steps
This only works on the desktop website (naukri.com in a browser). The mobile app does not have the delete account option as of 2026.
Log in to Naukri.com
Open naukri.com in a browser (not the app — the deletion option is only in the desktop website). Sign in with your registered email and password.
Go to your Profile settings
Click your name or profile photo in the top-right corner of the homepage. In the dropdown, select "Settings & Privacy" or click "View Profile" then go to the gear/settings icon.
Find Delete / Deactivate Account
Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page. Look for a section labelled "Account" or "Profile Privacy". You will see two options: "Deactivate Account" (temporary) and "Delete Account" (permanent).
Choose Delete Account
Click "Delete Account". Naukri will ask for a reason — select the one that applies. Common options include "Found a job", "Not useful", or "Privacy concerns".
Enter your password to confirm
You'll be prompted to enter your current password to verify it's really you. Enter it and click Confirm.
Check your email for the confirmation link
Naukri sends a deletion confirmation email to your registered address. Open that email and click the confirmation link. Your account enters a 30-day grace period before permanent deletion.
Wait 30 days for permanent deletion
During the 30-day period, your profile is hidden from recruiters but not yet deleted. If you log back in within 30 days, the deletion is cancelled. After 30 days, your data is permanently removed.
How to Deactivate (Hide) Your Naukri Account Instead
If you just got a job or want to stop recruiter calls temporarily, deactivation is the smarter move. You can reactivate in seconds when you're ready to job-hunt again.
Go to Settings on naukri.com
Log in → click your name/photo (top-right) → Settings & Privacy.
Select 'Deactivate Account'
Under Account settings, click Deactivate. Your profile becomes invisible to recruiters immediately.
Choose a reason and confirm
Select a reason from the dropdown (e.g. 'Not actively looking') and confirm. Your account is now in standby mode.
Reactivate any time
Simply log back in to reactivate. Your resume, applications, and score are all preserved.
What Happens to Your Data After Deletion?
Naukri's privacy policy states that after the 30-day grace period expires, they delete your personal data from their active servers. This includes your resume, contact details, work history, and application records stored on Naukri.
However, three things are not erased by deleting your account:
- Company ATS copies — any company that received your application via Naukri retains it in their own ATS.
- Third-party databases — data that was scraped or shared before your deletion may persist on job aggregator sites.
- Recruiter downloads — recruiters who downloaded your resume before deletion still have those files.
Still Job Hunting? Naukri Alternatives Worth Knowing
If the reason you're leaving Naukri is that it hasn't delivered results — not just spam — it's worth diagnosing why before switching platforms blindly. The most common reasons Indian professionals don't get responses on Naukri:
- Resume score below 70 (recruiters filter by score before reading)
- Skills don't match the keywords recruiters search for
- Current CTC expectation is outside the range the company is hiring for
- Applying to roles 2+ levels above current experience
